This course, aimed at beginners, does what it says on the tin. Over the course we’ll show you how to make a dress from start to finish using a commercial pattern similar to those available in craft & sewing shops. We’ll show you how to measure yourself, how to interpret those measurements and apply them to the pattern, cut the pattern out and then sew it all together. By the end we’ll have shown you how to produce a finished dress! The course is taught by an experienced designer and places are limited to ensure individual tuition. The courses are held at the Ragtime School of Arts & Crafts, just around the corner, but we meet at the shop which is at: 60 Tib St, Northern Qtr, MCR, M4 1LG
We can even help with accommodation at great prices if you’re coming to Manchester especially. Call 0161 835 9265 for further details.
Our sewing machines are Brother sewing machines.
Weekend courses are from 10-5pm.

“The two day basic sewing course is a really good place to start if you want to make your own clothes. You will have 1:1 support; learn how to make and work from a pattern, how to adapt that pattern to suit your body shape but what is really good is the fact that you come away with something you can actually wear to go home in at the end of day 2. Rhoda and I really enjoyed the experience and I have had some really nice comments on my dress.” Yvonne Cropper, 2010.
